Dr Yostina Atta

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Atta graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) in 2014, and joined the Schwarz Family Practice as a GP Registrar in her final term and continued on after completion of her FRACGP.  She enjoys the wide scope of patients that general practice has to offer, and is particularly passionate about Women's health and Paediatrics.  While not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing soccer and going to church.

 

 

Dr Jenny Brackenbury

MBBS (Syd), DRANZCOG

Dr Brackenbury graduated from The University of Sydney and has completed her Diploma in Obstetrics, a Family Planning Certificate and training in General Practice with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Family Medicine Programme. After moving to Camden she joined Dr Schwarz in 1989 as the first ever practice Registrar. Jenny has a special interest in Women's Health, Antenatal Care, Paediatrics and Counselling. She believes in caring for people in a holistic manner and enjoys being part of the local community. When not at work you will find her quilting or with her horses.

 

Dr Matthew Crilly

MBBS (UWS), DCH, FRACGP

Dr Crilly was one of the first cohort of Western Sydney University students to study and graduate from the Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. After graduating, Matt was the highest scoring candidate in NSW and the ACT for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Fellowship – the practical exam that qualifies doctors to specialise as GPs. For scoring top marks, Matt was awarded the prestigious Tony Buhagiar Memorial Medal.  He grew up in Macarthur and still lives in the local area.  When Matt first began studying his Medical degree, his ultimate ambition was to become a Paediatrician – and his passion for working with children remains with him, in his role as a GP. 

 

Dr Karen Farmer

MBBS (Syd)

Having graduated from The Universityof Sydney, Dr Farmer started in General Practice in 1986 and joined the Schwarz Family Practice in 1998. She has a particular interest in Women’s Health, Antenatal Care, Osteoporosis and Chronic Disease Management. Dr Farmer is a qualified GP Supervisor and contributes significantly to the training of our GP Registrars and Medical Students. When not at work you will usually find Dr Farmer with her husband on the dance floor.

 

 

Dr Nagajothi Gnanasekar

MBBS FRACGP Dip Derm Dip cosmetic injections

Dr Gnanasekar is known in the practice as Dr Jothi.  She completed her medical degree in India and started working in Australia in 2010.  She completed her GP training in Kiam and Berry and obtained her FRACGP in 2016.  She is able to provide Antenatal Care and has an interest in Dermatology.  She completed her Diploma in Dermatology in 2014 and her Diploma in Cosmetic Dermatology in 2018.  When not working Dr Jothi can be found with her husband and their 2 children.

 

 

Dr Jane Gray

Dip App Sci Nursing, B.Med (Newc), FRACGP

Dr Jane Gray is a 3rd generation General Practitioner. Jane joined her father Dr John Schwarz in 1998 following her graduation from The University of Newcastle in 1995. She has obtained further qualifications as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and Certificates in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. Jane has a particular interest in Family Care, Skin Cancer Medicine and Palliative Care. She thrives on applying the latest medical knowledge with her patients, whilst together with Matthew, raising their four sons.

 

Dr Matthew Gray

B.Ec, B.Med (Newc), FRACGP, FAICD, GradCertClinEd

Dr Matthew Gray started his career at Macquarie University in 1988 enrolling in a Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Laws and graduated eight years later from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Medicine. After completing his FRACGP in 2000 he joined the Schwarz Family Practice eventually forming a special interest in Travel Medicine. Matthew is a passionate advocate for General Practice and primary care and he is currently the Chairman of the South Western Sydney PHN. He was appointed as a member of the South Western Sydney Local Health District Board by the NSW Minister for Health in 2013. When not at work he can be found growing his sons through planning their next adventure, and anticipating the next Manly Sea Eagles win!

 

Dr Hasitha Jayamaha 

MBBS (UNSW), FRACGP

Dr Has graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed his GP registrar training in Windsor, obtaining his FRACGP. He recently joined the Schwarz Family Practice in 2014. He has particular interests in the areas of Weight Management, Cardiovascular Health and Children's Health. When not at work Has enjoys swimming, drumming and travelling.

 

 

 

 

Dr Hannah Jones

MBBS , DCH, FRACGP

Dr Jones has re-joined our practice as a fully qualified GP having previously been with us during her registrar training.  She graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2013.  She completed 2 years basic training at Campbelltown and Bowral Hospitals, including 6 months of emergency medicine.  She has a Diploma in Child Health together with the Family Planning Association Australia National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health and HealthCert Professional Certificate of skin cancer medicine.  When not at work she enjoys church and time spent with family and friends.

 

Dr Adel Magdy

MBBS/BSc (Med) UNSW, FRACGP

Dr Magdy graduated from the University of New South Wales, and initially joined the Schwarz Family Practice as a GP Registrar in 2009. On subsequent completion of his FRACGP, we were pleased to welcome Adel as a permanent member of the team. Adel is very passionate about the health of young men, one of the least likely groups of people to visit a doctor. Being an avid traveller himself, he has a special interest in Travel Health, and has previously worked in hospitals in Kenya and Tanzania. When not at work, you will usually find Adel on a plane, a ski field or at his church. 

 

Dr Renee Mitchell

B.Tech Mgt (Biotech), B.Com (Hon), MBBS, DCH, FRACGP

Dr Mitchell graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) after a career in Information Technology.  She grew up in Macarthur and still lives in the local area.  She is passionate about women's health, children's health, and mental health as a focus within general practice.  When not working towards honing her skills in those area she spends time with her 2 children and loves caring for her family.  

 

 

 

Dr Mary Ann Nicolas and Dr Robert Nicolas

Dr Mary Ann finished her medical degree in the Philippines and qualified to Practice in Australia in 1998. She has a special interest in Women’s Health and is quite adept in caring for children and the elderly.  Dr Robert Nicolas also finished his medical degree in the Philippines and qualified to Practice in Australia in 1997. He is passionate about looking after children and enjoys all general patient care. They have both obtained their FRACGP. When not at work Robert and Mary Ann are usually to be found spending quality time with their extended family. 

 

Dr John Schwarz OAM

B Pharm (Syd), MBBS (Syd) 

Dr Schwarz graduated from the University of Sydney with a B Pharm and MBBS. Following this he worked as an intern and a resident at Royal North Shore and Mona Vale Hospitals. He then took his family to a mission hospital in South Africa where he became the Superintendent. In 1984 he returned to Australia with his wife, Rosalie, and their five children (including a high school aged Jane Gray) and established the Schwarz Family Practice in their home. For over thirty years John has worked in general practice, growing his surgery and becoming increasingly involved in the needs of those in Africa. In 2000 Rosalie and John founded the African Aids Foundation which raises funds to support orphans and others affected by HIV/AIDS. This work involves a trip at least once a year to South Africa or Kenya. In 2013 John and Rosalie Schwarz each received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for their longstanding work in Africa. 

When not at work you will find John and Rosalie managing the various affairs of the African Aids Foundation or planning a trip to their little granddaughters in Hollywood!

 

 

Dr Barry Tran 

BSc (Med) MBBS (UNSW), DCH, FRACGP

In 2008 Dr Barry Tran graduated from the University of New South Wales and has obtained his FRACGP. He is an enthusiastic Doctor who was awarded Intern of the year in 2009 and Resident of the year in 2010 at the Bankstown-Lidcome Hospital. He also has a Diploma in Child Health from Westmead Children's Hospital. Dr Tran joined the Schwarz Family Practice in 2012 as an advanced GP Registrar. We were later thrilled to welcome Barry as a permanent part of the team, bringing his clinical ability combined with his empathy for people of all ages. Outside of work, Barry has a strong interest in computers and technology.

 

Dr Anne Trang 

Anne is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.  She completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree at UNSW.  She has worked in hospitals across NSW including Westmead, Children's Hospital Westmead, Blacktown, St George, Sutherland and Orange in specialties such as paediatrics, obstetrics/gynaecology, aged care, rehabilitation, emergency and surgery.  Anne enjoys the wide variety that comes with general practice with special interests in Children's and Women's Health.  She holds a Diploma of Child Health and the Family Planning Association Australia National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health.  When she isn't working, Anne enjoys new food discoveries, exercising, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
